Denis Moffett Earns Nationally Recognized DBIA Certification
March 18, 2019
Balfour Beatty recognizes Denis Moffett, project manager, for his significant achievement in earning the National Design-Build Professional™ certification from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).
To achieve designated status, Denis successfully completed a rigorous certification process which included a formal application with letters of recommendation; coursework; elective credits; and a formal examination focused on all facets of design-build project delivery.
Experience on design-build projects is a significant factor in determining a candidate’s readiness. Denis, a recognized leader in water infrastructure construction, has worked on numerous high-profile design-build projects, including DC Water’s Biosolids Main Process Train (MPT).
“Securing DBIA certification is no easy task, particularly when Denis’s ‘day job’ is managing the Broad Run Water Reclamation Facility project,” says Mark Johnnie, vice president and southeast region manager for Balfour Beatty’s US Civils team. “We are very proud of Denis’s accomplishment.”
In addition to achieving his DBIA certification, Denis was also recently appointed to the DBIA 2019 Water/Waste Water Committee. Denis will bring his expertise and unique insight to the national committee while he works with fellow committee members to advance DBIA and design-build.
With his DBIA certification, Denis will continue to exemplify and promote the best practices of design-build delivery for Balfour Beatty’s clients and partners, enhancing the collaboration, communication and overall quality of projects.
